LOCATION
Located very close to rue de la Roquette, between Place Leon Blum (metro Voltaire) and Place de la Bastille, it is in a very trendy area, close to the bubbling Bastille night spot with lots of restaurants (sometimes famous like the Blue Elephant - thai cuisine - in rue de la Roquette, or Bofinger -traditional French cuisine - in rue de la Bastille) and cafes of all sorts (beer, juice bars, tapas bars, traditional cafes, etc...), the famous Balajo (dancing spot) in rue de Lappe, the modern Opera House of Paris on Place de la Bastille,
and not far from the historical Le Marais area, especially Place des Vosges, Hotel de Sully, Carnavalet Museum, etc...
* Closest metro station is Voltaire on line 9 , but Bastille station (on lines 1, 5 and 8 ) is not far through rue de la Roquette, as well as station Ledru-Rollin (line 8) through avenue Ledru-Rollin.
* Many bus lines stop about 200 meters away on nearby Place Leon Blum : 46, 56, 61, 69 ,
or a bit further, about 600 meters away, at Place de la Bastille : 20, 29, 65, 69, 76, 86, 87, 91
* The new Velib city bikes system is also a good way to move around if you are careful enough in the Parisian traffic on large avenues, small streets are more quiet and safer. There are many stations in Paris ; you need to register over Internet before being able to use those bicycles
THE APARTMENT
Located on the 3rd floor without an elevator, in a building protected by an access code, with a nice and clean wooden staircase,
giving on a rather small and quiet street, facing west-southwest therefore very bright,
this is a 40 sqm apartment where the bedroom area is not separated from the living room by a wall, but by shelves, keeping a good impression of space and brightness.
The living room offers also a sofa-futon, arm chairs, chairs and a convival round dining table, also a stereo.
High speed access to Internet should be installed before the end of May 2008
The kitchen corner includes a sink, a refrigerator, electrical burners, an oven, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster, a juicer, and other kitchenware and tableware, as well as cupboards to keep some of all this equipment.
The bathroom offers a washbasin, a shower and a washing machine, as well as spacious cupboards, bith inside and just outsuide the bathroom. The toilet is separate, near the bathroom.
A third large cupboard is to be found in the entrance corridor, facing the bathroom.
Linen and towels are provided.
AVAILABILITY AND RATES
Available for rather short term periods, depending on use by the owners, roughly speaking from 3 nights to 3 months, ending at the latest on September 30th, 2008.
All-in short term rates
for up to 2 persons, are adjusted to the actual length of your stay, here are a few examples (high season rates) : :
7 nights / 1 week : 700 € (average 99.96 € per night)
14 nights / 2 weeks : 1,130 € (average 80.68 € per night)
21 nights / 3 weeks : 1,490 € (average 70.96 € per night)
They are payable in advance and in cash.
Refundable safety and key deposit would be 1,000 euros or 1,600 USD
Middle term rates :
For up to 2 persons :
For a 2 months rental ending at the latest on September 30th, 2008 :
1,350 euros per month including utilities and share of taxe d'habitation
For a 3 months rental ending at the latest on September 30th, 2008 :
1,250 euros per month including utilities and share of taxe d'habitation
Additional costs :
- electricity/gas (probably an average of between 2 and 3 euros per night)
- own Internet netwrok if you wish (40 euros per month), operational within about 2 weeks after application
- broker's fee : 16% of rent (3 months rental) or 18% of rent (2 months rental) payable upfront
